Wander around the Pettah Market while drinking one of the famous king coconut drinks! Discover what makes the Sri Lankan hopper so special all around the world. Enjoy explosive fiery flavor of spicy symbols and the fun deliciousness of red and white rice string hoppers. Turn your attention to the complex flavors of fruit chutneys and Sri Lankan pickles. Inhale the aroma at a cassava chip stall as crunch your way through them. Enjoy a cup of tea with a nice fresh samosa - a triangular pastry filled with savory goodness. Try some of Sri Lanka’s more exotic fruits. After a walk around the Old Town Hall Market, go for a more filling meal. You will have the choice of selecting a packet of lump-rice or lamp rice as some of the food stalls advertise, or a giant plate of the much spoken about koththu Rotti.
